High stakes vs authentic assessment
ReplyDeleteis a comparison of performances of a group with students in other schools or classrooms. You need to estimate range of reading ability in a class; select appropriate materials for reading; identify students who need further assistance and then align curriculum, and adjust classroom time accordingly.
authentic assessment, is when you make a judgement about students strengths and needs in reading and learning, then select the appropriate materials. If need be you will adjust the instruction when necessary then figure out the strengths and the weaknesses
